As artificial intelligence (AI) technologies become increasingly integrated across sectors, the way organizations represent their AI capabilities carries significant implications. While AI offers genuine innovation and efficiency, exaggerated or imprecise claims can create legal exposure, ethical concerns, and reputational risk.

Descriptions such as “fully autonomous,” “self-learning,” or “human-equivalent intelligence” are often employed without sufficient qualification. Inflated claims may mislead stakeholders, set unrealistic expectations, and trigger scrutiny.

Clear, honest communication about what AI systems can and cannot do is not just ethical—it’s strategic. Organizations must balance innovation with accountability by adopting clear, accurate, and substantiated language in all AI-related claims.
